The year 2024 has been marked, from beginning to end, by the prolonged, intense, violent, extremely serious and inhumane collective torture to which the civilian population in the Gaza Strip is being subjected at the hands of the Israeli army, the occupying power of Palestinian territory.
In Gaza, we should not speak of conflict, because there are not two sides in dispute; nor should we speak of war, because there are not, strictly speaking, two armies or a battlefield. In Gaza, all precedents have been broken in terms of violations of International Humanitarian Law: hundreds of casualties among humanitarian and medical personnel; massive, systematic and deliberate destruction of health infrastructure; use of the interruption of drinking water supplies and starvation as weapons of war; total blockade of humanitarian aid by the occupying power, etc. there seems to be no limit and no possibility of imposing one.
